Dancing Queens

Recently Erik's friends from back in the day (the Minnesota days, that is) included Seattle in their trek around the country in search of adventure and, eventually, a place to call home. It was delightful of course for Erik to catch up with old friends and for me to get to know them, and many highlights of the weekend included the antics of their 4 year old daughter. We ran from spiders, encountered a snail named "garage sale," explored a magical forest, attended balls as princesses, and, as you may have guessed from the title of this blog, danced. Erik was especially impressive as he participated in an interpretive dance symbolizing the growth of a flower. So as not to lead the youth along a too "elitist" path (as we have discovered in the past months, this is certainly not the route toward earning respect of the "average American"), he also taught her how to do "the lawnmower." I freely admit that I overused "quotation marks" in that last sentence.
